Water treatment plant to quench Changlang’s thirst

PIC: Ravi Kumar On Thursday, local MLA Tesam Pongte attributed the drinking water scarcity to an unfinished water treatment plant (WTP) as well as the damage to the pipelines after a bridge collapsed. Work on the WTP is is progress, and the water problem will be solved in a couple of days, he said. The district has always had water problem since its creation in the 1970s. “WTP will reduce the crisis to a great extent,” Pongte said, urging the people to be wary of water-borne diseases with the monsoon approaching. “ I have asked Chief Minister Pema Khandu to visit Changlang by May for the inauguration of various completed projects.
