It is a moment to delight for the people
of Arunachal Pradesh as Eighteen villages has been selected for the Model
Village (MV) under the Border Area Development Fund (BADP).
Addressing the media person on Friday at
Chief Secretary Conference hall Union, Minister of State for Home Affairs of
India, Kiren Rijiju told that two villages namely Singbir in West Siang and
Gelling in Upper Siang has been adopted as MV and government has sanctioned
total amount of Rs.23.14 crore.
The rest sixteen villages of districts
from Tawang, West Kameng, East Kameng, East Kameng, Upper Subansiri, Kurung
Kumey, and Anjaw has been sanctioned with 2 core each under the MV sanctioned
by the government of India, he told.
“For the initial work Rs 2 core has been
sanctioned meanwhile Rs. 13 Crore will be sanctioned in the coming two years
for the rest 16 villages by the Ministry of Home Affairs, he added.”
He said that the very concept of MV is to
sustain the rural life with all sought of facilities which includes like
electricity, education, health, road and many more. In the recent times many
people are seen shifting to urban towns without the basic needs available in
the rural villages. This is an approach by centre government to bring a new
life to those villagers, Rijiju said.
For the development and upgradation of
educational infrastructure in the remotest border area under BADP Scheme government
has sanctioned in all Eight Thousand Lakh. It include establishment of
Vivekanada Kendra Vidayalaya (VKV) at the district of Dibang Valley, Tirap,
West Kameng and Tawang and upgradation of VKV at Anjaw, Longding, Kurung Kumey
and East Kameng district of the state, Rijiju added.
Meanwhile he also stated that to
strengthen the security and for better management of India-China Border the
frontier Headquarter (HQ) of Indo Tibetian Border Police (ITBP) is being
shifted to Itanagar from Shillong. The battalion HQ of ITBP will retain at
Basar instead of shifting to Dibrugarh. In the meantime the establishment of
Sector HQ of ITBP will be at Likhabali, Rijiju told.
For the development of NDRF Battalion HQ
at Hollongi, Itanagar an amount of Rs. 153 crore has been sanctioned. Besides for the strengthening of Police
infrastructure in Tirap, Longding and Changlang district revised project cost
of Rs.212.85 crore (Enhancement of Rs.73.9 crore over the above previous
sanction of Rs.138.96 crore) has been sanctioned.
He also informed that a total of 10 IrBn
battalions have been approved for the North East state in which Arunachal
Pradesh being focused has been granted for 2 IR Battalions has been approved
and order being issued.
One post of IG, CISF is created for the
North East to be headquartered at Guwahati and in the meantime IG will be
posted in the month of April. It is moment to cherish the effort by the chief
minister of state Pema Khandu and under the leadership of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi that our state is concerned with development in every sector with
transparency, he added.
