ITANAGAR, Feb, 23: The Home Minister of state Kumar Waii, Minister for Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Dairy Development (AHV & DD) Dr Mohesh Chai and Deputy Speaker Alo Libang on Friday visited Yingiong and Tezu to study the ground reality and the law & order situation at both districts.

Ministers held a meeting at Yingkiong with the Police personals and the local Peace Keeping Committee (PKC) where the locals submitted a memorandum to the state government.

The memorandum included to bring back one rapist Holvi Sema of Nagaland to the Yingkiong Judiciary, suspension of the then Superintendent of Police (SP) and Officer-In-Charge, charge sheet to be submitted to the Court and case to be completed within 2 months and provided with government aid to the victim who is at hospital now.  

Home Minister of state Kumar Waii talking to the reporter of The Arunachal Pioneer (TAP) told that, for now the law & Order situation at both the districts are normal and has asked the police department to nab the main culprit indulged in burning the Police station at Yingkiong.

In reply to the memorandum submitted Waii told that as for now the crime has been confessed by the victim so there is no need of shifting to Yingkiong. The demand for the suspension of SP and OC will decided after thorough discussion and investigation by the committee within police officials which has been constituted.

The grant for Aid and compensation shall be the top priority of the government. “I will inform the grievances to the state Chief Minister and make sure the victim’s family gets more incentives, he addded.”  

The minor is at critical condition and hospitalized at general hospital Pasighat.         

“The series of rape cases is shame to the state and the people. The people who indulge in such crimes will never be excused and if police personal found guilty by any means will be suspended as per law, Waii added.”  

Talking to the one police officer of Yingkiong PS he said that the mob was in too large and force at the station was limited thus they burned all the documents achieved since 90s along with 5 computers and a police vehicle. The principal of the school M. Sharma has been arrested and kept in remand now. The principal was arrested because he knew about the incident but kept mum at the day which he has confessed, Police said.

State government has deployed additional force to check the law & order situation. 1 platoon of Commando force, Central Reserve Force Police (CRPF) and 5th Battalion of IRBN has been deployed so far, Officer added.             

In the meantime the public of Yinkiong seems to be boiling in anger shouting slogans to hang the rapist. In a talk with a women from the crowd she said, “We are not satisfied with the government action against the shifting of rapist to Aalo judiciary. We want the government to address the people in public avoiding closed door meeting.”

Meanwhile Waii also visited Tezu police station where he took inspection of the police station from where the mob had lynched the two rapists on 19th February. He asked SP in-charge to find out main people indulged in the taking the law in its own and punish according to the law.

In a brief meeting with victims family at Tezu Guest House Waii assured full help from the government to compensate the grieved family as soon as possible.

For now the tension of law & order at Tezu is normal and asked the police official to renovate the damaged police station. The order of CrPC 144 during the day hour is normalized but it’s strictly executed during the night hours, he added.
