When power is a pain: Nyapin ‘wired’ to danger

Image
Shonaam TABRI DADA Nyapin Power House  NYAPIN , Mar 18: Development and improvement in new technologies to generate electricity came as a boon to human kind. Not for  Nyapin , a circle in Arunachal Pradesh’s Kurung Kumey district under Arunachal West parliamentary constituency. The place has electricity. But more than lighting up, it has become a cause of concern for the people as well as the  Power  department employees. Though the remotest area of the district has electricity, villagers dread the killer tag that the  power  lines have earned over the years. Too many domestic animals and humans – adults and minors – have perished due to electrocution. From a small tehsil in 1953,  Nyapin  has come a long way. Its location or village code is 265353. According to Census 2011,  Nyapin  has a total population of 1,243. There are about 261 houses in  Nyapin  HQ village. Sangram is the nearest town approxi...

We are consuming the smoked meat in various ways, be in traditionally made Yumtar(mix of smoked meat& chilly) , Peke-Pila (traditional Apatani smoked meat dish) , Dinkhyo (smoked meat) , driedfish, smoked bamboo shoot etc.and one should know that, these are the reason that is causing cancer in the state in high speed. Smoked meat, red meat or fish mostly dished in slimy oil, and cloaked with mixture of salt, chili powder and spices, before it is heated directly over fire is one of the most common causes of cancer of the food pipe in the state. By Shonaam Tabri Dada Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) primary school at Senki-View which was established back in the year 2007 is at the worst condition like almost all the other schools under SSA. Likely the school is to facing problems like no water connection, shortage of class room which are the basic need in a school. Whereas according to the perspective plan of SSA Govt. of India for District has been proposed to be laid out for the construction of new building, new classrooms, boundary walls, toilets, water facilities, maintenance and other infrastructure items. The school is running without class IV and V, which according to the government norms is opposite. The State Project Director (SPD) Opak Gao of SSA says that, the classrooms can only upgraded according to the student population. His statement makes no sense when according to the government; primary School means classes from I-V. First there should be classroom then the students will come for admission. Why to term...

By Shonaam Tabri Dada Its very bolt from the blue to know that little champagne socialist or the haves are indulged in the illegal cultivation of KAANI (OPIUM) in the villages of Namsai district in Arunachal Pradesh. Accordingly there are some champagne socialist who make laborers to cultivate opium in the high mountains and make the half share of the entirety amount. In the same way there are many other groups who are only dependent to mon ey generated by the so called termed as cash crop to opium. But the concerned local of the district has its own point to curve the opium menace which is prevailing at large. Gaon Burah of Mankao village Niling Manglong has to say that most of the youth along with aged old people are indulged in the illegal cultivation and consumption of Kaani. “Around 50 percent of the people at district headquarter Namsai, Chowkham, Medo, Mahadevpur and Mankao village are under its shock. Sakshar Bharat stumbles in state; Workers without pay for 28 months

Image
Shonaam Tabri Dada I n a significant verdict, the Supreme Court has held that the principle of 'equal   pay   for equal work' has to be made applicable to those engaged as daily wagers, casual and contractual employees who perform the same duties as the regulars. But this is not apparent at the grassroots level in Arunachal Pradesh, especially in the case of   Sakshar Bharat   Mission (SBM). An ambitious national flagship programme launched by the government and executed by Arunachal Pradesh in 2009-10 to promote adult education, especially of women, SBM was designed to extending education options to adults who lost the opportunity of access to formal education and crossed the standard age of receiving such education. Those who now feel a need for formal education of any type, including literacy, basic education, vocational education, physical and emotional development, practical arts, applied science, sports and recreation has been procured the 60-71% ...
